Whānau–whakapapa cards
Using the words and pictures from resource sheet 1.1, make up packs of whānau–whakapapa cards. Get the students to play Snap, Fish, and Pairs, matching the pictures to the words. (The word for “snap” is “pakō”.)
To make this activity more challenging, you could add more vocabulary. Consider whether the students could help you to create the additional cards.
Tip
To make the flashcards, print the resource sheet double sided – on the “short” side. You may wish to laminate, before cutting, for durability.
