Dycomm 2
For a simpler dycomm task, each student assumes the identity of someone from a famous pair, such as Hinemoa and Tūtānekai or Batman and Robin. The students’ task is to go around the room introducing themselves to their classmates and stating their relationship to their famous partner and so find their partner. For example, they could say:
Maori vocabulary | English translation |
---|---|
Ko ... au. Ko au te hoa o .... Ko wai koe? Ko koe taku hoa? Kei te kimi au i a .... | I’m .... I’m the friend of .... Who are you? Are you my friend? I’m looking for .... |
They could also complete this task using email, texting, or Skype. The main thing is that your students negotiate meaning with each other.
